WELCOME
Is it your first time visiting our Application? If so, you may be wondering: Who are we and what is this church about?
We would like you to know that we are a group of people who are passionate about knowing more about the Word of God and worshiping him in the beauty of his holiness, as revealed in the Bible.
Our mission says it all: "Sharing the love of Jesus Christ to our community"
That is why we are together on an incredible and fascinating journey of telling the world that following our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is glorious.
We know and confess that we are guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit every day and despite the difficulties we face. Without deserving anything, God has given us his mercy, salvation and love through Jesus Christ; True god.
Our desire is to bring you practical, relevant messages from God's Word to equip and encourage you through the ups and downs of life.
We are glad that you are here with us today and we hope that you will join us on our journey following Jesus Christ as his disciples. God's plans for you are and will always be excellent. Do not forget to leave us your information to contact you and provide you with our services as a ministry of God.
Welcome to the Iglesia Evangélica Luterana San Pablo.
On May 5th, 2005, we were incorporated as St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the city of Aurora, Illinois. Affiliated with the Lutheran Synod of Missouri, "The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod" (LCMS).
Witnessing the growth of the Hispanic population of our city, a group of faithful disciples of Christ guided by the Holy Spirit and under the leadership of Pastor Reverend Alex Merlo, made the following decision: Buy the building of the sister congregation St. Paul that they would put up for sale. God opened the doors for this group with vision, compassion and love for souls, to buy the property and the new congregation to have a temple where they praise God and equate his disciples. Since then, we have been an autonomous, self-sustaining congregation committed to expanding the kingdom of God.
We are and will continue to be a community of believers in Christ, who experience and inspire transformed lives through the Word and grace of God. That with the power of the Holy Spirit, who grants faith and healing in a broken world, we make and will continue to make every effort and investment so that people know and worship the one true Lord of lords and God of gods; Jesus Christ.
"Sharing the love of Jesus Christ"
We believe that each person in San Pablo values the following:
MoUnt reflected in every life for the glory of God
Christian mor between each person and where the world can see Christ reflected.
No person in the Church is left without spiritual care and where each one is integrated into the life of the Church.
P ower and authority in the Word of God is made with love and respect.
A consistency and care for the needy and poor.
B uenos Christian education programs.
The means of thanks are celebrated regularly.
O be obedience and fidelity to the Word of God.
In our Church all people are welcome, because all people matter to God. Therefore; we exist to celebrate God's presence in worship."You will worship the Lord your God, and Him alone will you serve." Mark 4:10
We gather to honor the name of God and celebrate our salvation, making use of the means of Grace offered by the unique Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, God of gods and Lord of lords.
And in no other is there salvation; for there is no other name under heaven, given to men, by which we can be saved. Hebrews 4:12
We exist to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God and in the faith that comes from God. "Rather, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…" 2 Peter 3:18.
We believe that every local congregation should Grow, because we believe in the Great Commission.
19 Go then, and make disciples of all the nations, giving them baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given you: and see, I am ever with you, even to the end of the world. Matthew 28:19 -20
We exist to share God's love through our ministries. Each ministry is the axis of our congregation and each member needs to be part of one of them."4 Now there are different gifts,… 5 There are different ministries,… 27 you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a member with a particular function." I Corinthians 12: 4-5, 27
REGARDING THE WORD OF GOD
The Bible is the true Word of God, and it is where we learn about Jesus. The Old Testament is full of references about the coming of the Messiah, which means (God's Anointed) From the first story in the Bible (Adam and Eve) through all the following books, God promises a Savior who he himself would send. To rescue all mankind from eternal damnation caused by the disobedience of our first parents.
The Bible, or Word of God, was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme resource of truth for the lives of all people. Being inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. Some references: II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1: 20-21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119: 105,160; Proverbs 30: 5;
OUR CONFESSION OF FAITH:
In a clear, practical and easy to understand way regarding each of the persons of the Trinity, we do so with one of the first confessions of Christian faith. "The Apostolic Creed."
I believe in the all mighty Father God. Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; He was born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; He was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell, on the third day he rose from the dead; He ascended to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of almighty God the Father, and from there he is to come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy Christian church; the communion of the children of God; forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the flesh; and eternal life. Amen.
ABOUT SALVATION.
Salvation is God's gift for all humanity
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Although forgiveness was obtained for all mankind and is offered through the Gospel to all who hear, however, it is received only by those who believe in the Gospel and receive forgiveness with joy.
"This means that, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, regardless of their sins, and that he entrusted the message of reconciliation to us." 2. Corinthians. 5:19
"And Abram believed the Lord, and that was credited to him as righteousness." Genesis. 15: 6
This salvation is offered not by any work done by us but solely and exclusively by Jesus Christ.
23 “because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; 24, but they are justified freely by his grace, through the redemption provided by Christ Jesus, 25 whom God made a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood. This was done by God to manifest his justice, for in his patience he has overlooked past sins," Romans 3: 23-25.
